3 Mocktails That Will Make You Forget All About Alcohol

I’ve been playing around with different recipes for the last few weeks and there’ve been a few that really stuck. The trick to a good mocktail is having a flavor that isn’t something you typically have in a drink- something to linger on as you sip (for once meaning drinking and not “Stay In Place”). It could be aloe, melted coconut oil or my personal favorite, oregano.

Piña Oregano

Prep Time: 1 min
Ingredients:

  • .75 cup juice blend (I used the Whole Foods pineapple, apple and ginger blend, but anything with a citrus note will work!)

  • .5 cup sparkling water

  • 1 T oregano plus more to garnish

  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger

How To:

1. Muddle the oregano into a bowl to get the flavor out.
2. Pour the juice into the bowl and muddle once more.
3. Set a glass with a large ice cube and strain the juice into the glass.
4. Top your drink with the sparkling water and a sprig of fresh oregano before enjoying.

Aloe There

Prep Time: 1 min (or less if you’re speedy!)
Ingredients:

  • .75 cup aloe juice (whole leaf and inner leaf juice both work, and yes both exist)

  • .5 cup potent juice (concord grape is my go to, but I’ve opted for fancy alternatives like “watermelon cranberry” before too)

  • 2 T sparkling water

How To:

1. Mix all the ingredients together in a glass with ice.

2. Watch as your skin starts to glow! (Okay, that may take longer than a minute)
